Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the last couple of years you’ve heard many different opinions about the housing market…and I’d venture to say even the cave dwellers have their opinions about where the market is headed (maybe that’s why they sold their house and moved to a cave in the first place). As a REALTOR who interacts with the public on a daily basis and gets no less than 500 emails per day (I’m exaggerating but its close) on the state of the market, new legislation, yada, yada, yada I think I’ve heard every opinion there is to hear. From the market has already recovered and we’re on the upswing to the world is ending and your house that you bought for $150,000 in 2005 will be worth $15,000 at the end of this year. So who do you believe?? Bottom line is this – there will always be people who have to buy homes for a variety of different reasons. If you’re thinking about buying or selling a home you need to look at LOCAL supply and demand levels for the type of property you’re buying or selling and where those supply and demand levels are headed in the future…because the most important market is the one in your neighborhood!
